CIBOLA COUNTY - Commissioners gave the hospital the go ahead through a resolution that supports a mil levy election beginning early September and ending in early October. The election will determine the continuance of a mil levy for Cibola General Hospital. It will be mail ballot only. Ballots are expected to be mailed out to registered voters by the county clerk’s office in early September and will need to be mailed back by Oct. 4.
The mil levy is $4.25 in property tax for every $1,000 of assessed property value. For example: a property owner with a home valued at $100,000 will continue to pay an additional $141.67 in property tax.
The commissioners voted unanimously in support of the resolution.
