December 30, 2009 — Cibola General Hospital welcomed a much needed donation of winter clothing on Tuesday, December 30. The clothing was donated as part of a holiday drive organized by HB Construction in Albuquerque.

CGH Nursing Directors, Glenna Losito, RN and Maria Atencio, RN were contacted by a representative from HB Construction this week and asked if the hospital was in need of winter clothing. “Often times we have patients in the Emergency Room that have been involved in an accident and their clothes are destroyed. They may have nothing to go home in,” says Losito. The donation will help the hospital reach out to the community and provide some of these items to patients in need. “We are very thankful for the generosity of these companies,” says Atencio.

On Tuesday morning, HB Construction delivered five large garbage bags full of items. The clothing donation consisted mostly of winter socks, gloves, hats, and scarves for children and adults. HB Construction told Losito that they were interested in giving these needed items to a community outside of Albuquerque, and they heard Grants has very cold weather. The hospital donated remaining bags to community leader, Garland Moore who plans to help distribute to needy community members.

Other companies involved in the donation include: JC Blinds, RKS Painting, Pueblo Electric, TechCraft, ASCO, White Cap, Rio Grande Floor, C-Tech, PCM, Stock Building Supply, Lynx Electric, AG Supply, Les File Drywall, Donner Plumbing & Heating, Daylighting Solutions, Harrison Contracting, Thyssen Krupp Elevator, Staples, Nelson Framing, Beaty Construction, Ortega Plumbing & Heating, LMC, Accent Contract Glazing, and Tree’s Plumbing.
